01 "An Act relating to cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid training for initial
02 applicants for driver's licenses and instruction permits; and providing for an effective
03 date."
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
05 * Section 1. AS 28.15 is amended by adding a new section to read:
06 Sec. 28.15.059. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training for new applicants
07 for driver's licenses and instruction permits. The department may not issue a
08 driver's license or instruction permit to a person who has not previously held a license
09 or permit in this or another state unless the person supplies evidence acceptable to the
10 department as prescribed by regulation that the person has completed cardiopulmonary
11 resuscitation and first aid training in the one-year period immediately preceding the
12 application.
13 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2010.
