Click here to view specific changes This bill revises the current Indiana Health Club AED law scheduled to be implemented with AEDs deployed 7/1/08.
1. This bill exempts health clubs located as a part of another business that has a dedicated emergency response team internally and that team can readily respond to the health club
2. This bill corrects the inadvertent monopoly on training provided to the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. The old bill said CPR and AED courses had to be approved by these two organizations. They do not approve courses, they ARE approved courses... Medic First Aid, ASHI, ECSI and others have nationally recognized courses that would not have been recognized under this statute as of 7/1/08
3. This bill clarifies Fire Department role in inspections for compliance.
